“If I had to name this animal…”, is built upon the Electronic Storybook template from Learning Magic Inc. In this activity the children are told that there is a problem in that we don’t know the names of the animals presented on the pages. They are asked to make up a name for each animal and give the reasons why they are naming it. Each child has the option to put his or her name on the cover and then write appropriate names and descriptions in the text boxes supplied.
Animals included in this activity include: A fennec fox, a striped hyena, a red panda, a gila monster, a scarlet ibis, a tapir, a whiptail lizard, a gemsbok, a sloth bear and a Japanese serow.
The underlying technology used in this activity is IntelliPics Studio 3®. The activity can be run on the IntelliTools Classroom Suite Player but IntelliPics Studio 3® will be required to make changes or additions to the activity.
