The first portion of the activity was developed in IntelliPics Studio 3® and provides pictures of the chicken house and its wide variety of residents. After exploring the chicken house and its denizens, the activity is linked to an activity built in IntelliMathics 3® using the Addition template.
On each page of this activity about exploring the zoo, students read a paragraph and then make a choice between two buttons to decide what they want to do next. With only 15 pages, the story actually has eight different outcomes.
This errorless writing activity provides children with seven sentence enders about what winter is, including but not limited to: building a snowman, scraping the ice off the windshield, having frozen breath, and bundling up against the cold weather. Images of the various winter characteristics are provided within each sentence.
There is a text box on each page with a question beginning with “which”. The question is read out to the student, and the student has a choice of two pictures to click on in order to answer the question. The pictures consist of pairs of familiar objects, such as a table and a desk, and the exercise tests if the student can distinguish which one the question is asking about.
