The activity describes events in Helen Keller’s life from early childhood, including the illness that cost her sight and hearing, the arrival of her teacher Anne Sullivan, the breakthrough that led to Helen learning to communicate, and on through her success in education and in serving as an advocate and role model for the blind community. After children read a one page biographical narration on Helen, they are presented with five multiple choice questions to answer.

Explore in the Sky  (click title for download page)

We have provided six background images of the sky including various sunsets, cloud formations and lunar pictures. We also have provided a series of things that you will find in the sky including bats and blimps. The child can then explore their colors, sizes, numbers and movements using the background pictures and images provided.

Delicate Arch In The News  (click title for download page)

Two background pictures of Delicate Arch are provided along with a series of clip art characters. The children can create their own scenes and snap a photograph of the scene, and then write a newspaper article about their scene.

Davy Crockett  (click title for download page)

The activity chronicles one of the most famous frontiersman’s life from early childhood, through his teen years and into political life. It also recounts Davy’s departure from Tennessee and his unfortunate death at the Battle of the Alamo. After children read a one page biographical narration on Davy, they are presented with five multiple choice questions to answer.

Beach Addition to Nine  (click title for download page)

In this activity the child is presented with ten addition questions regarding crabs and starfish that meet at the beach. An ocean shore background is also provided as a backdrop to the addition problems.
